Saint Joan

A Good Book

In a world marked by division political strife, racial tension, and religious discord. I turn to my mother Joan, as a beacon of hope; a good book that delivers resiliency and grace in the face of turmoil.

In an era where the fabric of civility is unraveling, Joan is unwavering in her devotion to the people in her life. Acting as the binding thread, she unites rather than separates, always extending care and kindness, and displaying an unwavering desire to assist those in need.

In her youth, a calling to become a nun beckoned, until meeting my father (Vol. 7). Divine intervention guided her, revealing that happiness wasn't confined to convent walls. Tragically, she became a young widow, losing her soulmate, only for Bob (Vol. 16) to enter her life prematurely. God's voice resonated, reminding her, "your gift is the devotion you give to others.”

The stories she holds closest are those we can all relate to but are difficult to put into words. She bestowed upon her family a living reference for navigating life's intricacies with grace and resilience. It is “knowledge in story and picture”.
